1.     Dal tuwar- 200 gm
2.     Meat- 200 gm
3.     Tomato- 200 gm

5.     Bottle gourd- 1

8.     Shazira powder- ½ tsp
9.     Elaichi powder- ½ tsp
10.  Red chilli powder -1 tsp
11.  Turmeric- ¼ tsp
12.  Salt- 2 tsp
13.  Green chilli- 20
14.  Garlic & ginger paste- 2 tsp
15.   Onion -1
16.   Oil- 100 gm

  • Peel off skin of bottle gourd and cut into pieces of rhombus shape and keep aside.
  • Wash dal , take it in a vessel , add 2 glass water and cook till it becomes tender. When it turns tender add salt (1/2  tsp) and mash to get a fine paste. Now add 1 ltr water and keep stirring at the same time. Then add coriander, curry leaves and lemon juice. Boil it for 10 mins and keep aside.
  • Keep another vessel on stove and pour oil , and fry onion and green chillies till onion turns soft. Now add meat, salt (1 tsp), turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garlic ginger paste and fry until the water of meat dries. Then add tomato and 2 glass water and cook till meat turns tender.
  • Now add bottle gourd and a glass of water and cook until bottle gourd turns tender. Now add the cooked dal which was kept aside. Then add shazira elaichi powder and boil for 5 mins. Set on lowest flame for 10 mins. Put off the flame.
  • Dalcha is ready. It tastes great with Bagara Khana.
