Mutton Khorma

1.     Mutton- 500 gm
2.     Potatoes- 500 gm
3.     Khash khash- 50 gm
4.     Dried coconut- 50 gm
5.     Groundnut-50 gm
6.     Onion-1
7.     Green chilli paste- 1 tsp
8.     Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
9.     Garlic ginger paste- 2 tsp
10. Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
11. Salt- 1 ½ tsp
12. Curd-200 gm
13. Shazira powder- ½ tsp
14.  Elaichi powder- ½ tsp
15. Cinnamon- 3 pieces (3 inch each)
16.  Bay leaves- 6
17.  Milk- 200 ml
18. Lemon- ¼
19. Coriander-2 bunch
20. mint-1 bunch
21. oil- 100 ml
  • Cut potatoes into pieces.
  • Roast groundnut, coconut, khash-khash and grind. Now mix this with curd and make a fine paste. Also add milk to this.
  • Keep vessel on stove heat oil and fry onion till it turns golden brown. When this cools mash it and keep aside.
  • Now fry potatoes by adding ½ tsp salt in the same oil till it turns golden. And keep aside.
  • Now add mutton, garlic ginger paste, red chilli powder,salt, green chilli paste and turmeric powder to the oil and fry. Now add the curd mix which was kept aside. Then add shazira powder, elaichi powder, bay leaves , cinnamon and water (800 ml) and cook this until mutton becomes tender.
  • When mutton becomes tender add water(600 ml), coriander, mint, the fried onion, the fried potatoes and lemon. Let this boil for 5 mins. Then set the stove on lowest flame for 20 mins. The turn off the flame.
  • Mutton khorma is ready. Tastes great with Naan.
